With the aim of redefining the relationship between interior and exterior spaces, widely acclaimed, Mexico City-based architectural firm PPAA by Pablo Perez Palacios have envisioned and crafted a new residence that embraces the spirit of its living gardens and the warmth of sunny Los Angeles. By subtracting from the maximum construction volume, the meticulous designers diligently formed calming airy voids to offer visual transparency property-wide, transforming living space into patios and vivid natural greenery. The main entrance has been strategically positioned to the side, opening the living room to the front yard while affording privacy. The home's cool concrete structure integrates straight lines and curves to introduce movement, with the arch on the main facade reimagining the gabled roof in an inspiring and thought-provoking way. The architectural design incorporates curved elements to create a dynamic sense of movement, while the arched structure spanning the entire length of the house illuminates the interior through a linear light well. No expense was spared in outfitting the home's culinary centers with state-of-the-art appliances, including Fisher & Paykel gas stove, refrigerator, and microwave as well as a Bertazzoni cooktop in the ADU. In addition, a comprehensive Lutron smart lighting system was installed across the entire house. The entertainer's backyard features an outdoor dining room with breakfast bar, plenty of patio space, grassy lawn, and fire pit. Plans for a pool are included in the sale (ready to issue). Locally sourced materials, resources, and artisanal processes fuse to instill a sense of permanence and identity poised in mindfulness of community and environment.
